5. More ways to improve CTR

In a previous post, I was in some ways of using the words “strong” in combination with strong call for action words to improve your PPC click through rate (CTR). Since registering, there have been some updates to the algorithm as such and AdWords quality score, CTR plays an important role. In fact, it is my opinion that incremental increase in CTR is the most important part of any PPC marketing campaign as one of the few factors that can influence directly to increase your ad position and reduce your cost per click (CPC). Remember always to / B split testing your ads and never leave an adgroup with only a single advertisement.

Here, are five examples of how that can increase your CTR without doing anything magical or technique. The announcements are made, but the data are not. The ads are as close to the original as possible. In addition, will test the theory in anyway you right?

1) Symbol of the symbol / registered marks.

While I’ve been using this method I for years, Brad and Amber makes some great points on this subject. Not only can use special symbols to increase your CTR PPC, but it can also be used to increase your organic SERP CTR. I agree entirely with Ian Lurie in his blog post predicting that organic CTR matters a lot in 2009.

(2) Price in holder

Add that the price in the holder is a great way to increase CTR. be careful with this though, if not the more inexpensive, you’re CTR will suffer.

(3) Holders temporados.

It doesn’t matter if your product is not seasonal. If you sell blue widgets throughout the year, a headline like “Easter Widget sale” will work much. There are so many different holidays, festivals and events that can be used with. If the local destination even better.

(Mark 4) in the display URL subdomain

While most brands of terms you can use in your ad copy, you can use in display URL.  Amber has a great post on why AdWords allows marks in the URL here. Using the mark in the URL address of viewing some argue confuses potential clickers into thinking that it is the “official” of the owner of the mark. Be careful with this a too… Google knows when a visitor clicks on your browser’s back button.

(5) The exact keyword in the title.

An oldie, but a gift. We all know that search engines bold the keywords when they match your search query. Closely with weave adgroups you can take advantage of this without having to use the dynamic keyword insertion.

Remember, CTR for reasons of quality score is calculated only on the exact match of the keyword and only there is the Google search network. This means that any increase in CTR of dynamic keyword insertion will not improve your google quality score. CTR in Google’s search partners does not contribute to the quality score calculations.
